This book provides details information to sights which are somewhat off the beaten track. Great background/historical information. Especially loved the detail of this book. The reader might be put off by the lack of color photos but the accurate and detailed text more than compensates. I would buy again. This book helped us get "into" Brittany.

good book with plenty of detail.
We took this book along on a two-week car circuit of Brittany. It reads easily and entertainingly; it was especially helpful before the trip, in giving us a sense of the place and helping us decide what we might want to see. The narrative approach was a little less helpful when we were actually there, on the road, needing a quick bit of information, but even so, there are a lot of specifics about small villages and out-of-the-way places that helped us see the "real" Brittany. There's a lot about the history and legends of the region that I did not find anywhere else.
