My 19-month-old love "The Pout-Pout Fish" and "The Pout-Pout Fish in the Big Big Dark", so I was really excited to order this lift-the-flap book for him. I assumed this was an entirely new book, so imagine my disappointment to discover most of the illustrations are take from "The Big Big Dark". There is really nothing new in this book. Plus, at the end, the Pout-Pout Fish is supposedly still looking for Miss Shimmer, but because they used illustrations from previous books, she is shown on a lot of the pages leading up to the end. My little one loves the two books I listed above, and usually really enjoys lift-the-flap books, but he has barely looked at this one. We read it a couple of times, and now he just pushes it away when we pick it up and gets one of the other two. If your child has never read the other Pout-Pout Fish books, they will probably like this one, though.

My daughter like Pout-Pout fish so she really like this book. What I don't like is that the publisher is clearly using the same graphics from the other Pout-Pout fish books. I mean come on, my daughter remembers that in the other book the clam has lost its pearl and was quick to point out that the clam was sad.

My twin grandchildren adore this book. I suggest getting this book for children at least 18 months if they want to lift the flaps themselves! We had a lesson on gentle lifting of the flaps, and I made sure all flaps had been opened several times before I gave it to them. They are pretty stiff. Beautiful illustrations and a great way to learn the names of the sea creatures. There are many Pout Pout books, but if you want a child pleasing lift the flap book, this is it!

Story leaves a bit to be desired. Don't expect the same caliber as the original as far as originality and rhyme scheme. But the tabs are great fun for my one year old. (Illustrations are recycled from another pout pout book about the being afraid of the dark)

Pout Pout Fish is great! Lift the flap books are great! These two combined obviously make a great book. My son loves looking through this book for Pout Pout Fish and finding all of his friends along the way. The flaps have held up nicely despite lots of opening and closing and not so gentle hands pulling on them.

My 14 month old LOVES this book! We bought it before bringing her to the aquarium for the first time. Now she thinks all fish are called "Pout Pout". The pages are sturdy an the lift-the-flaps hold up better than any other book against my daughter's constant opening and closing. This book is a must-have for curious, playful toddlers!

My grandkids can never get enough of this book! They loved flipping the tabs to see what’s hidden. And each time, you’d think it was the first time... not the 500th time they’ve read the book. It’s a keeper! Love the pictures and rhyming. So cute!

This was my second copy as my daughter destroyed the first. It held up incredibly well, not like some other lift-the-flap books, but she has perseverance. You really can't go wrong with pout pout fish
