I just received this book along with 5 others i ordered. They all arrived intact with no dents or tears. This is a color by number book. I've only done one pictureand I think it was one of the easier ones. You'll hopefully see it in the pic below. I kinda rushed the coloring to see what the end result would be so its not colored the best. There is a color key on the inside of the front cover. There are no names of colors to coordinate the key colors with though. I did manage to match most of the colors up pretty good I think. There are plenty of pictures to choose from. The numbers disappear on the dark colors but not so much on the lighter shades. Still i was kinda in a rut with my other coloring books and this was something different. The colors in the pictures are picked with an artist's eye so their not your typical coloratios for nature seens. I found that kinda nice for a change. There is a finished version of all of the drawings on the inside of the front and back covers. They look much better if you stand back and look at them as id on a museum wall.

I just LOVE this book - another winner by Creative Haven! I, myself, really enjoy the Color by Number books - you can choose your own colors or use the ones they list. As others said, you cannot always find the colors they chose in a small to medium-sized box of colored pencils or colored pens or markers, because this book uses some beautiful, subtle shades of greys and purples and oranges and greens and some very light pastels such as very pale grey, ivory, and yellow. You can find these colors in the larger-sized boxes of colored pencils, 48 to 72 pencils, but also you can use colored pens and markers if you switch some of the colors. If you make a sunset sky that will reflect in the clouds and lakes, you can get beautiful pictures using pens and markers, replacing sunset colors for the pastel skies this book uses. I find the color by number books much more fun and relaxing for me - I am not so good at choosing colors, and I can just relax and color, without agonizing over what color to use! To me, this book is just GREAT!

This is nice when you want to check your brain at the door and don't even want to choose colors, you just want to zone out and scribble. I love that the color key is printed on the inside front cover, so you can match any brand of pencil. You can also choose to deviate from those colors as long as you are consistent. With landscapes there is a lot of leeway, I feel with the colors so you could choose any type of pencil brand.

This book is a little different from the standard adult coloring book. Each picture is lined with numbers assigned. IMHO the color chart is a guide and does not have to be matched exactly. The point of adult coloring is to do what you want. I can create a palette that I am happy with. The pages are perforated so I can remove a page if I wish. I deducted a star because the paper is smooth and there is not much of a tooth to capture the pencil pigment. One should test a page to ensure it can handle gel pens and markers without bleed through. I love the natural colors of the desert and the woods. This will be a nice book to complete.

These are nice pictures but I don't like the color choices. I have a hard time matching the colors, and I have 72 to choose from. Plus, the colors on the color chart aren't named. A little disappointed in this book. The rest of the Color Haven books I have are not like this.

Bought for my mother who has dementia. The color by number may help keep her mind clear for a little while longer. She picked this book. It is detailed and at first I was concerned she could not handle it, but I numbered her pencils for and she has enjoyed it.

This color chart has few uncommon colors which makes it difficult to find a match. Although I have tons of color pencils in variety of brands, I was unable to find a color pencil which matches closely to the uncommon colors on the chart. However, I was able to find a match by blending two colors together. This American Landscape color by number book will be a challenge for those who have limited color pencils available.

So cool. I love all the weird coloring books and activity books that are becoming more prevalent now that they're labelled "adult" and insecure people don't have to worry about being seen as childish. "See? It says adult right here." Excellent product.

Imagine the kind of outline you used to make for a term paper in High School. Imagine that the main headings are A+ material, the sub-headings are A- minus material, and when you get down to the details, the quality drops off to C+.This book is just like that.The author has a strong personal story, and the main themes of the book - that good things usually come from risk taking, that "playing it safe" has its own dangers, and we should not allow setbacks to make us overly risk-averse - are totally valid and need to be said. I was a bit disappointed at the (lack of) depth however. Instead of a great principle, deeper explanation of the principle, multiple examples of the principle in action, and suggestions/plans for applying the principle, the reader gets a great principle followed up by cheerleading, slogans, and other relative superficialities.Overall not a bad book, and it's based on some outstanding insights. I fully expect this author's next book to be better.

This book is amazing. It is a must read for any woman at any stage of life. It truly ministered to my past, present and future. Thank you for sharing.

I have read several books in this series but didn't like this one. I found the writing "heavy" and uninteresting. Maybe it could be because I had already read Warhol's "The Philosophy of Andy Warhol (From A to B and Back Again)" which this book quoted from. so, in a sense, I didn't feel like I was reading anything new.

This was a gift. I understand the recipient loved it.

Depending on your experience and perspective, you can just as easily invert the phrase so that life is like a tango. I savored this book and have gifted it twice! As someone who knew nothing about, nor had much interest in Tango-- I found myself captivated by Flaherty's depiction of a vibrant subculture-- its characters, rules, rhythms, and experiential entry fees. For those who found the memoir dark, I couldn't disagree more. Flaherty demonstrates restraint in all the places where the story could have pooled into wells of self-indulgence. The writing is spry and direct-- unflinching when it needs to be, and always lively. The descriptions of New York were enough to make a former resident long for her lost bodega. I deeply enjoyed wandering the city from within this author's gaze, and think that you will too.

I don’t know if it’s because I’ve recently taken up Argentine Tango as a new hobby or because I’m also a writer, but this book was delightful to read. The author was very adept at merging the history of Tango into her experiences with learning the dance and all that comes with it. How she used the world of Tango as almost a character in her story was very clever. It gave depth and intrigue to her romantic relationships that otherwise would have gone unnoticed. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody who has ever struggled in life and who might be curious about the world of Tango!

I read Meghan's manuscript a while back. It's years in the making. It's a book about the growing pains, finding true meaning of life, and tango history all in one. Best tango book ever. Buy it!!

Interesting, innovative and engrossing. Flaherty weaves together her life and the history and performance of tango in such an original way that Tango Lessons becomes a standout among memoirs.
