Her new hockey team is an AAA division team, which means harder practices, road trips, and tougher teams. Throughout the story, Jessie is constantly struggling to make the right decisions and is very hard on herself to be perfect, which she seems to fail at miserably. The boy she likes stops talking to her, her team turns against her, and her sister hates her. By novel's end, she is able to set everything straight. This story takes readers on an emotional roller coaster. The beginning is dialogue heavy, and the book includes more than a hockey team's worth of characters to remember. Still, the complexity and pressures of the teen's life will resonate with many readers. I loved the consistency in all three books especially with Jessie. Also loved how you kept things hanging till the end with her relationship status with mark. Jessie became a good role model and I believe kids this age need to read more books like this that they can relate to. Maureen did her research and with her middle years teaching experience and having two daughters in hockey she knew exactly what she was talking about when she wrote this trilogy.
